Stormvermin finished & Army Painted

Im happy with them. They pop, there's kitbashing and there are some new sculpts which mix perfectly well with some of the original Goodwin sculpts.
Nice to have a full unit of 20 with musician & standard. These were speed painted in about 1/3 the time of the blackskaven.
Unit leader/occasional hero. I feathered his highlights but these photos just blob them. He's better in person.
So with this unit and the last jezzailachis I just finished I've now painted every model in my 3600 point army.
I still have some shields and a few standards to do and finish 50 or so bases, but it's painted, the army is painted. Never thought this would happen.
My good camera is on loan but once I have it back I'll take some real army/collection shots with decent lighting once all the little jobs are finished.
Thanks and comment pls

  1. The moment you'll attach the last shield or finish the last base, you will feel that pleasure only true completion can grant, enjoy it to the max !
Truly no mean feat to paint an army this size 'especially a skaven one).
Really looking forward to the group shot now !

    1. Cheers Mr Mouse, I've little left to do, just army banners and basing 60 figures?! But I'm enjoying it now at the end as much as I did in the beginning

  3. Truly outstanding work, 24_C! That leader is fantastic. I love his pose, his weapon and his cape. You've outdone yourself.
Now you need to find yourself an opponent with 3600 points of something to match your skaven. (I'm expanding my orcs this month, but my big plan is the addition of a mutant goblin unit worth between 30 and 50 points... I work at a MUCH slower pace than you... and with the Blue Jays hitting the playoffs... well, all bets are off on prompt army expansion this month.)

    1. I hear you on the gobbo front, they're the next army in the que for me, I can't believe how cheap they are; but it leaves plenty of room for war machines!

  4. Congratulations on painting your entire swarm, very well done indeed. All the paint jobs have been very good indeed (photographs never seem to capture how good finished minis are, I find). If you can't do a group shot you can always snap sections of the army and tell us a bit about each - sorta army showcase kinda thang... Enjoy your painted force :)

    1. Cheers and welcome Ragsta!
The army is painted to what I consider (not to toot my own horn) a very high battlefield standard but still at a good speed; 3600 points in 31 months is pretty respectable; just over 100 points a month but you are right, when your most expensive unit comes in at 9 points a model (and you only get 20 at that!) it is a bit of a different story; my next army is a real horde, 140 models for 1500 points. Stay tuned it's going to be a real speed paint!

    1. Thanks C40K
They really stand out, I had not realized how much purple and white would 'POP', they're very overt in the battlefield. Once their bases are done, holy crap they'll look ace, for me at least.
