I'm Still Here

It's been forever since I've posted, sincere apologies to you, my dear readers. I feel even worse about not following those to whom I subscribe; a true travesty, I am filth. Not the good Nurgle filth, I mean the 3rd edition Wood Elves filth, the kind you can't wash out.
I never make them but this time I have an excuse...
The greatest joy in my life arrived. I cannot say how he's enriched my life, and just over a month old and 62cm long, I hope the Alpha Legion, if not the Dark Angels are recruiting.
Enough of that; Here's a work in progress shot of my Void Dragon Eldar Pirates.
I know, reduced to WIP shots, what has this Blog come to? Next it will be "look what I bought" posts.
Disgusting.
I've got to say, the Rogue Trader Goodwin Eldar are the best ever sculpted. Period. If you disagree, beat it. Of course all the detail makes these guys a pain in the ass to paint compared to my beloved Skaven; such a joy, strangely they're nearly all Goodwin sculpts as well, God I miss them.
In that vein I got my big bastard repaired and pinned;
Once these 10 Eldar are done I will get him finished. I can't wait to give my caster a scroll of summon greater daemon and see what happens, with my luck he will turn into chaos spawn.
Thanks for reading feels good to be back, hopefully within the next couple weeks I'll have more.
Thanks for sopping by.

  1. Nice to see you back online! You basically have the best possible excuse for your absence. That is one beautiful nurgling.
Can't wait to see that Eldar army when it's done... although I anticipate some delays as you raise the next generation of gamers.

    1. Thanks Sully, glad to be back! My little Legionnaire is doing well, his gene seed is strong and he grows exponentially, I have the Alpharius, all I need now is an Omegon to complete the set.

    1. Too right Sir, people tell you what it will be like but can never truly describe it until you hold him in your arms.

  4. Congrats Dude, so pleased things have come together for you, it really is the most amazing thing ever isn't it? It seems our lives mirror each others once again!

Really nice work on the Eldar Pirates. I totally agree, Jes Goodwin sculpts are the best full stop. On ANYTHING! Love the Perry's work too, and Kev Adams and Bob Olley to name but a few but Jes' stuff just seems to sit right.

I look forward to seeing your progress over the coming weeks and it's funny that you showed your Greater Deamon of the Horned Rat and I said about our lives mirroring each others and that BOYL2016 is approaching, things really do have a funny way of coming together...................

    1. I hope you're digging the dad game as well, hard but rewarding.
I'm looking forward to getting the greater daemon painted up, seems like forever he's been sitting there. Good luck with your servant of the horned rat; desecrate, maim, decay, repeat.

    2. I am indeed, it's frickin' AWESOME!!!!!!

I'm hoping to convert my Vermin Lord slightly, well, actually, let's rephrase, I'm converting one of my Vermin Lords, I have another one knocking around somewhere missing a tail that I want to paint up to be just the normal one, in fact I may nick the tail of the one for the original and add a different tail to the one to be converted. Yes yes, that makes much more sense. Thanks for the chat, it really helped me to work that bit out =)

  6. I know the painting/hobby slump well. But you've got a far better excuse than I :)

Glad to see the 'pansy pirates' back on the painting desk again. I've got a few on the "to do list" too. Seeing yours gives me a good kick in the pants to get them done.

    Cheers :)

    1. Lol pansy pirates, I'll remember that one next time they follow fire; wiping out a marine squad.
There are plenty of better painted pirates out there but I really like the militarized look of mine. Hopefully I can get my walkers and dreads finished, Panseee! Will be my Bartlecry when a pair of wardemons jump into combat. Should be memorable!

We should form a group for hints & tips :D

  8. Thanks Suber, can't wait for my next painting session, 6 more steps and they're done, 25 pirates in the table is nothing to sneeze at and they produce a ton of firepower!
Any tips on corner cutting would be great!

  10. I'm feel like such a knucklehead for missing this post. I guess its been a busy summer for me, too. Congratulations on your little guy! Having little people running around the house improves your life by about 1,000%, though there's way less time for things like sleep and miniatures.

    1. The lack of sleep was getting rough, better now though. The old marathon sessions are long gone however I can sneak an hour here and there!
