Today's progress

I won't be back to the paint table for a couple days but I am quite pleased with myself and the progress I've made on the bases of my last remaining rat ogres, I'm sure you can't see jack shit but when theyre all flocked and dry brushed they look the shit I think.
And the finished family awaiting them
I'll also have 11 giant rats done but, they're mounted on 20mm bases. I don't think it's that big of a deal, not as though they're game changing or anything.
So stay tuned I may be able to sneak in some brush time on Monday night. Just don't tell She Who Must Be Obeyed!

    1. I would have to agree although I will always have a fondness for classic bone ripper and the old rat ogre blood bowl star player hakkflem shuttlespike? Something like that.
The modern rat ogres really are shit though. These ones I found small so it forced me to learn how to properly build up the bases which may come in handy if I ever get my minotaurs going!

    2. I love the fact their small, I feel they need to be about 8 to 9 ft tall with Ogres and Trolls being about 10 ft tall. Bit like Skaven should be smaller than a man.

  3. We can all agree in game terms they're ten feet tall, which is grand. I just wanted to make them look more impressive rather than having them look small on their 40mm bases. 3rd edition skaven need some kind of centrepiece other than 40 man units after all.

  4. Man I wish I could paint as quickly and efficiently as you. I'm looking at a stack of 36 primed minis from the new Star Wars 'Imperial Assault' skirmish game, and they'll take me ages.

  5. Quality over quantity Sully. Your work more than impresses. This is the army I just tried to 'bang out' as it were where as yours are all fantastically painted. Right now I am of the mindset GET IT DONE. In future perhaps I'll be able to slow it down with my chaos army. Good luck with your imperial skirmish, maybe I can bring along my west end minis and have a day of it. Cheers!
